The good and evil Pope John XXIII

The good and evil Pope John XXIII

But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. For in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death.
- Book of Genesis 2:17

From the diaries of Msgr. Fenton:

“...some other people believe what I have thought for several months, namely, that John XXIII is definitely a lefty. This nonsense to the effect that he is ‘deceived’ or ‘mal servite’ is disgraceful. He is the boss.” (Nov. 25, 1962)

From a comment I left at Harvesting the Fruit:

".... what we have been told all along about Vatican II is not the whole truth. Clearly Bea (and John XXIII???) had no intention of using a “hermeneutic of continuity”. He had in mind a new beginning.(Anfang) Or as we said back in the 60s “This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius”. Now, that is not Catholic — whatever it is, it is not Catholic."

The comment above from Msgr. Fenton seems to confirm what I had previously suspected. It seems to me that John XXIII used Cardinal Bea as his own  personal agent to steer Vatican II in a "liberal" direction. It seems to me that John XXIII always intended VII to be a "new beginning" for the Church. IMO what he wanted was to totally destroy the pre-Vatican II Church and to replace it with a New Church. A "liberal" Church. A Church of Man.
