bergoglio washes his hands of the blood of innocent Iraqi Christians

Giuliano Ferrara, the editor of the daily newspaper Il Foglio wrote that the disaster for Christians in the Nineveh plain was not worth more than a simple explanation in  the Vatican ultimately was charged with culpable delay.  In addition this statement was only in the name of the Pope by the Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi, who plays no role in the official hierarchy. Form and content suggest that the highest ecclesiastical hierarchy in this thing only does the absolute bare minimum, which they can not escape, i.e.,  the minimum in order not to lose face, says Ferrara.

This is what I too have been saying. The Vatican and the U.S. and the UN have waited until it is too late to even begin to make sympathetic statements. And in my opinion this was done deliberately.

The unspeakable tragedy that is occurring in Iraq could have been easily avoided. There was more than sufficient warning. But instead of acting to prevent Iraqi Christians from losing their homes the world powers deliberately chose to wait.... and wait.... and wait....

Until it was already too late.

And now we have bergoglio doing "the absolute bare minimum" just so that he can blunt the criticisms.

In fact yes he has done something significant.

bergoglio has "washed his hands" just as Pilate washed his hands in response to his critics who said he had not done enough to save the life of an innocent man that was being led to his Crucifixion.

And Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made; taking water washed his hands before the people, saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just man; look you to it.
